About

This program is designed to inform lawyers that neither a tuxedo, nor a formal gown, nor a law degree, provides immunity from Pennsylvania’s liquor laws, even if a good cause or prominent organization is involved.

Lawyers frequently and unwittingly expose clients, and themselves, to serious civil liability risk and criminal charges through unlicensed sale of alcohol at charitable events, political receptions, community fundraisers, and similar events.

Attendees will learn how to advise clients (charitable organizations, political campaigns, community groups, board members) to recognize and avoid risk while continuing to conduct successful events.
