Family Law: Amendments to Rules of Civil Procedure

Family lawyers take note of several recent amendments to the Rules of Civil Procedure. By order dated March 4, 2015, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court approved amendments to the rules governing who may serve as conference officers, hearing officers and masters in family law matters. There is also a new form for entry of appearance by a self-represented party. The amended rules, available here, are 1910.11, 1910.12, 1915.4-2, 1915.4-3, 1920.51, 1930.4 and 1930.8. The changes are effective April 8, 2015.

By order dated March 12, 2015, the Supreme Court approved amendments to the Support Guidelines at Rule 1910.16-6 concerning allocation of health insurance premiums between the parties to a divorce proceeding. Click here to read the amended rule, which will take effect April 11, 2015.
