The Pennsylvania Supreme Court has rescinded Rules 16-22 and 81 of the Rules Governing Standards of Conduct of Magisterial District Judges and adopted new Rules of Judicial Administration 601-607. Pursuant to the Supreme Court’s order dated March 26, 2015, these changes are effective immediately. The new rules govern certification requirements; continuing education requirements for magisterial district judges, senior magisterial district judges and Philadelphia Municipal Court Traffic Division judges; supervision of magisterial district courts by president judges; and transfer of dockets and other papers.
