The program will address the rise in use of social media sites by government agencies and officials and the need for a clear use policy for such sites. It will provide practical tips on how to draft a concise, clear policy. The program will also address retention of social media posts under the Municipal Records Act, responding to Right-to-Know Law requests for social media posts, and First Amendment issues that may arise when agencies employ social media and how to limit potential exposure to claims for violation of First Amendment rights that may attach to such sites.
