Private foundations both large and small are required to grant five percent of their assets toward grantmaking. Similarly, individuals and other institutional foundation types offer grants (or donations) to support social impact issues. Mission-aligned investing is grounded in the belief that all charitable assets should align with mission. In practice, institutional funders and social investors make social investments, including but not exclusive to grantmaking and charitable donations, to achieve greater impact on their mission. Sidney R.
