The COVID-19 pandemic has triggered rapid expansion of telehealth capabilities across the nation. The CARES Act, the Section 1135 Medicaid waivers, and now OCR and OIG enforcement policies, coupled with state emergency legislation, has dramatically changed the regulatory landscape, allowing providers to bring a new extensive range of telehealth services directly to patients in their homes, post-acute care facilities, dialysis facilities and new treatment settings.
