Even in normal times (remember them), Medicare is a big deal to deal with; trying to take ownership of the process of transitioning into the Medicare system - How to do it, when to do it, can I postpone it and if I do postpone what will happen? In the midst of the pandemic, the mechanics of enrollment got even harder to do and the need to do it correctly and effectively is more critical than ever. Join us to examine the rules governing enrollment into Medicare and why individuals may wish to delay enrollment. We will also look at the various coverage components of the Medicare system: when to, how to and what to select. We'll look at whether and when postponing entering Medicare makes sense, and we'll look at some simple analysis tools that can be used to guide the decision making process. Most importantly, how has the enrollment process been impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic and what steps has the federal government taken to make enrolling in Medicare easier under the circumstances, and what do you need to do to offset the limitations imposed by the pandemic: providing special enrollment opportunities for people who missed their chance to enroll in a Medicare health or drug plan; providing enrollment flexibilities for people entering into the system.
