The PBA Workers’ Compensation Bench Bar Committee Shares Its Best Practices Recommendations
More than five years ago, the PBA Workers’ Compensation Bench Bar Committee created a permanent standing committee to review and recommend ways to refine and improve workers’ comp practice in Pennsylvania.
Their recommendations are disseminated via a half-day “Best Practices” forum that features a distinguished panel of workers’ compensation judges and attorneys who discuss ways to improve practice before the Court, offer practical solutions to common problems, and share strategies for side-stepping ethical traps that could damage a case.
Best Practices for Effective Case Management
Looking back, 2020 was a year of hard lessons learned. The near-immediate transition to virtual consultations, meetings, depositions, hearings—you name it, was a reactionary process. Now, with those experiences behind us, the Bar is proactively redefining and refining practice, procedure and process.
Effective Integration of Technology Is the Key to Managing the Challenges of Practicing in a Hybrid World.
Join the Bench Bar Committee for a thorough and thoughtful examination of recommended Best Practice strategies in three areas:
1. Technology in Virtual Litigation
- Equipment recommendations
- Client preparation techniques
- Avoiding technological pitfalls
2. Virtual Hearings, Depositions and Mediations
- Preparation and communication
- Exhibits
- Judges’ Rules and judge’s rules
- Procedural variations among jurisdictions
- Hot topics for success
3. Professionalism, Ethics, Conduct and Civility in Virtual Litigation
This unique opportunity puts you at ground zero for learning about and employing the changes that will shape your practice and maximize the service you provide to your clients in 2021 and beyond.
