The landscape for competition is changing. Non-competition agreements are increasingly disfavored while action to limit anti-competitive activity is increasing. For physicians and other clinical health care providers used to restricting competition, these changes are particularly significant. In this session, we will discuss past and current law governing the use of non-competition agreements in clinical medicine, and antitrust law enforcement in health care. We will explore trends that may illuminate the future of competition restrictions, how they might impact the employment market for physicians and other clinical health care providers, and what individual and institutional providers might do about it.
