About

This program will serve as an introduction to valuation of closely-held business interests and cover:
  • Basic accounting issues that affect valuation
  • Evaluating whether there is enterprise goodwill in contrast to personal goodwill
  • The role of Revenue Ruling 59-60
  • Working with a business appraiser/accountant in the process
  • The  accepted approaches to valuation of business interests

We will do this using a common small business so that students will get a chance to see this work in a practical atmosphere. The two instructors combine 80 years of family law practice and more than 25 years of business appraisal experience.

Recorded at the Family Law Institute in April 2022.
