About

Join course planner Zane Johnson of MZA Legal and the panel as they discuss how to help lawyers who counsel small businesses maximize their value to their clients. The seminar will cover substantive issues that every lawyer counseling small businesses should know, and practical ways of thinking about your practice that will help you exceed your clients’ expectations.

Topics include:

7 Things You Should Know About Your Client's IP
Intellectual property is part of the foundation of every successful small business. Your client’s brand assets, marketing materials, standard operating procedures, client lists, and the like are what allow your clients to outshine their competitors. Attorneys who work with small businesses can provide additional value to their clients by helping them understand the basics of protecting and leveraging their intellectual property. In this session, Christine Kuntz, Esq. of Concerto Law will tell you what you need to know in order to help your clients protect their intellectual property.

Helping Small Businesses Get People Ready
When it comes to running a small business, hiring the right people and knowing how to set them up for success can be the difference between long-term success and short-term misery. In this session, Edy Penn, Esq. of PennSquared Consulting will discuss how to counsel your small business clients on hiring new employees. She will explain why and how small businesses who are hiring their first employee, should consider their next ten.

Prepping Your Practice For The Future
The legal industry is changing. Lawyers who are running their own firms will need to adapt to new ideas, new technology, and new ways of doing business to stay ahead of the competition. In this session, the audience will hear from an expert panel of practitioners and industry experts as they discuss the trends that are changing how firms deliver value and exceed client expectations.

All attendees will receive the course book as a digital download. A printed copy of the course book is available, at a discount to attendees, for $40. Additional copies are available at full price.
