About

When a Pennsylvania resident dies, his or her assets must be collected and distributed according to the decedent’s will or the state laws of intestacy for those individuals who die without a will. However, when an individual dies, his or her outstanding debts do not die as well; as such, the decedent’s heirs will not receive any inheritance until all outstanding creditors of the decedent are paid.

This course book discusses the order in which claims are to be paid and what the rules and exceptions are.
