Shane Read is a nationally recognized expert who has helped thousands of lawyers throughout the USA and Europe transform their deposition, trial, and oral advocacy skills through his consultations, training programs, and keynote speeches. Shane is also a former Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, D.C., and Dallas, Texas, where he has tried over 100 civil and criminal cases and has served as lead counsel for 22 oral arguments before appellate courts. He has been an adjunct professor in trial advocacy since 1999 at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. Shane is an analyst for Courtroom View Network. He is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Texas School of Law. Shane has written several bestselling and award-winning textbooks on litigation skills and persuasion. Two of his textbooks have won the Association of Continuing Legal Education’s top honor for Professional Excellence.
