Faculty

Joshua Prever Esq.

Josh Prever is a trial and appellate lawyer who focuses his practice on representing financial services companies. As a partner in Holland & Knight’s Fort Lauderdale office, he represents Fortune 100 and 500 financial services companies along with midsize and boutique finance companies across the country in the mortgage servicing, FinTech, banking and nonbank lending spaces. Having defended his financial services clients in the courtroom, Josh puts the lessons learned from these lawsuits to good use by counseling his clients as they navigate a difficult regulatory and compliance landscape. Josh is also an authority on remote online notarization (RON) – and its ability to add flexibility for the financial services industry and others in an increasingly remote working environment. He also counsels clients on the implementation of this new technology to ensure compliance with the patchwork of state laws and regulations governing RON usage. 

Dale Hardy Esq.

Dale Hardy is Senior Counsel, Government & Regulatory Affairs, for Notarize, Inc. In that role, Dale’s primary responsibilities include tracking, analyzing, and engaging on legislation and regulations related to Notarize’s business, including topics such as remote online notarization and electronic signatures. Prior to his tenure with Notarize, Dale worked as a non-partisan staff member of the Judiciary Committee in Kentucky’s General Assembly. There he drafted bills on a variety of topics, including criminal law, domestic relations, animal welfare, and notarization. He is a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Brandeis School of Law.

Robert Jaworski Esq.

Mr. Jaworski is a financial services attorney in Holland & Knight’s Philadelphia office who focuses on consumer credit compliance and other regulatory issues of concern to banks, thrifts, credit unions, mortgage bankers, secondary mortgage lenders, finance companies and industry-related trade associations. He has extensive experience counseling institutions that provide financial products and services to consumers regarding the myriad federal and state laws and regulations with which they must comply. Mr. Jaworski assists clients in their development of new consumer financial products and services, reviews documents for compliance with federal and state laws, assists with bank applications and other regulatory issues of concern to banking institutions, helps financial institutions resolve compliance and licensing issues raised by state and federal regulators, performs compliance audits of loan files and operations, assists litigators in consumer finance-related individual and class action litigation, and provides counsel on day-to-day compliance issues as they arise. Previously, Mr. Jaworski has served as a Deputy Attorney General in the New Jersey Division of Law and as Deputy Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Banking. He was also the former editor of Pratt’s Mortgage Compliance Letter, a national publication on mortgage compliance issues, a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Finance Lawyers, and an educator, having founded and served for many years as an instructor for a company that trained mortgage loan originators on federal and New Jersey residential mortgage laws and regulations. Mr. Jaworski is a frequent speaker on compliance issues before state and national groups and has authored numerous articles on financial services issues.

Leonard Bernstein Esq.

Mr. Bernstein is a Philadelphia financial services attorney and partner with Holland & Knight, LLP.   Mr. Bernstein focuses on financial regulatory and banking matters, with a concentration in consumer finance. He provides consumer credit compliance advice on federal, Pennsylvania and New Jersey laws and regulations to banks, mortgage bankers and finance companies. He advises clients on credit card, auto finance, deposit, residential mortgage and other retail finance products. With in-depth knowledge of the federal Truth in Lending Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and similar laws, Mr. Bernstein regularly helps clients review documents and disclosures, and otherwise maximize compliance. He handles bank regulatory issues and exams and works with litigators to defend class actions and individual claims against financial services providers. He has been elected to the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers and is a Fellow of the American College of Consumer Finance Lawyers.  Mr. Bernstein is current board president of the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, and former chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association Business Law Section.
