Overview

The City of Philadelphia currently offers zoning bonuses to developers who opt into one of several active programs aimed at benefiting the City’s affordable housing market and the environment. Developers can take advantage of increased allowable density and more relaxed dimensional standards for the proposed projects under these programs. This session will focus on the City’s bonus offerings and walk the audience through a case study to illustrate what these bonuses look like in practice.

Alan Nochumson Esq.

Alan Nochumson, the
managing shareholder of Nochumson P.C., focuses his practice in real estate,
litigation, land use and zoning, business formation and general counseling,
and appellate advocacy. He is a frequent author and lecturer on issues
commonly confronting businesses, individuals, and professionals, including
serving in the capacity as an Adjunct Professor at Temple University’s Fox
School of Business. Since 2004, Alan has written a monthly real
estate column for The Legal Intelligencer, the oldest legal publication in
the country. During his legal career, he has been recognized as “A Lawyer on
the Fast Track” by American Lawyer Media; a “Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters
Corporation; an AV Preeminent® attorney (the highest rating bestowed upon
attorneys by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell); an “Influencer of Real Estate”
by The Philadelphia Inquirer; and, most recently, as “Best of the Bar – Real
Estate” by The Philadelphia Business Journal. Alan earned his B.A., with high
distinction, at the State University of New York at Albany and his J.D. at
George Washington University School of Law.

Alex Goldberg Esq.

Alex Goldberg, an
associate at Nochumson P.C. focuses his legal practice on zoning and land
use, where developers, architects, and homeowners all value his attention to
detail, creative problem solving, and keen ability to think on his feet. Alex
is passionate about providing unparalleled service to his clients, relying on
his communication skills, empathy, and his approach of treating his clients
like he would a family member. Alex earned his B.S. at James Madison
University and his J.D. at The Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of
