A look “behind the curtain” at how large law firms operate. A view that until now, only partners see!
Coming off the heels of a successful collaboration between the Large Law Firm Committee and the Young Lawyers’ Division, where experienced attorneys were given “An Associates’ Perspective” of practicing law, the PBA Large Law Firm Committee and YLD come together again to guide you to the next step, understanding “the business of law.”
This program features established counsel with several large Pennsylvania law firms, young lawyers, and associate attorneys who share more of a behind the scenes look at:
- Law firm economics: How law firms operate
- What goes into the “billable hour” requirement.
- Calculation of overhead and firm expenses
- Building your book of business
- Multigenerational mentorship
- Practical tips to develop your path to becoming a partner or shareholder in a larger law firm.
The program will be moderated by YLD Council Member, Rachel King, who will encourage an open and helpful dialogue with our panel and attorneys in attendance.
Co-sponsored with the PBA Large Law Firm Committee and the Young Lawyers Division.
Recorded in April 2024.
