Ohio CLE Courses FAQs
PBI has more than 60 years of leadership in continuing legal education. We offer fully accredited courses aligned with Ohio CLE requirements. Choose from Live Webcasts and On-Demand CLE for every learning style. The Pennsylvania Bar Institute is trusted by partners at major firms, solo practitioners, and early-career attorneys across Ohio.
Ohio attorneys must complete 24 CLE credit hours during each two-year compliance period, including at least 2.5 credit hours in Professional Conduct topics (ethics, professionalism, substance abuse/mental health, or access to justice).
Experienced attorneys in Ohio can fulfill all 24 CLE credits online through accredited self-study formats, including on-demand video, audio programs, live webinars, and interactive technology-based courses.
Live CLE includes in-person seminars and live webcasts where the instructor is present in real time. PBI offers numerous accredited live webcast programs.
Access to Justice (promoting fairness in the legal system, including race, disability, gender, and language access issues)
- Legal Ethics (based on Ohio Rules of Professional Conduct)
- Professionalism (focusing on attorneys’ ethical roles)
- Alcoholism, Substance Abuse, or Mental Health Issues (prevention, detection, treatment)
Ohio attorneys are divided into two reporting groups based on their last name.
Deadlines depend on your compliance group:
- Group 2 (M–Z): Compliance deadline is December 31st of even-numbered years.
- Group 1 (A–L): Compliance deadline is December 31st of odd-numbered years.

Ohio attorneys must log into the Attorney Services Portal to review and confirm their Final Reporting Transcript. If there are discrepancies, they must notify the CLE Commission by the reporting deadline.
