Overview

Do you hear the term “business valuation” and break into a cold sweat? Needing a business valuation in your divorce case doesn’t have to be a scary (or expensive) prospect!

Come learn from experienced practitioners and financial experts as they teach you how to make business valuations simpler so that you can protect your client and win your case.

In the first half of the program, we’ll discuss how to determine whether the business needs an evaluation at all. We will also address how to craft your discovery requests so that you actually obtain the documents needed to complete a valuation and not just simply mounds of paperwork. Finally, we’ll discuss when a less involved business evaluation (think evaluation lite) could be appropriate, particularly in cases involving small businesses.

After discussing how you can determine whether and what type of evaluation is needed in your case, the second half of the program will address frequently occurring issues that may arise in the valuations of certain types of business such as family-owned entities, professional practices, sole-proprietorship, and digital businesses.

All attendees will receive the course book as a digital download. Course materials are not available for separate purchase but a printed copy is available to attendees for $40. If you wish to purchase the printed version of the course book, please call PBI Customer Service at 800-932-4637.

Recorded in May 2022.
