Overview

All of the easy sites are taken! With changing business models and usage trends, existing properties are frequently being adapted and redeveloped for new uses, from adaptive reuse to complete redevelopment. This topic explores some of the issues that arise in these projects and presents strategies for dealing with some of the challenges.

Erik Hume Esq.

Mr. Hume is a Shareholder in the Harrisburg office of Saxton & Stump, a full-service Lancaster-based law firm. He is Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Group and a member of the Business and Corporate Law Group. In his practice, Mr. Hume advises clients through all aspects of real estate transactions and development. He represents landowners and developers in the sale, acquisition, leasing, financing, and development of commercial and residential real estate. His practice also includes the creation, development, and administration of commercial and residential condominiums and planned communities. In addition to his real estate practice, Mr. Hume also has significant experience in oil, gas, and mineral law matters and in commercial loan origination. He is a licensed title agent. Mr. Hume has presented several times on issues related to real estate law including easements, condominiums and planned communities, stormwater management, oil and gas law, and pipelines. He received his B.A. in Government from Lehigh University and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Mr. Hume served as a law clerk to the Hon. Michael A. Georgelis of the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas.
