Overview
An overview of a guardianship hearing. The discussion will include the presentation of evidence and witnesses from the perspective of the petitioner, the alleged incapacitated person, other interested parties, and the bench. Practical tips regarding preparation for the hearing, pitfalls to avoid, and what to do if things do not go as planned.

Richard D. Magee, Jr., Esq.
Mr. Magee is a sole practitioner in Jamison, Pennsylvania. His practice emphasizes guardianship matters and includes estates and estate planning. He has represented individuals and institutions seeking emergency and permanent guardianship appointments in Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia, and Franklin counties. He has served as a guardian and court-appointed counsel for alleged incapacitated persons in Bucks and Montgomery counties. Mr. Magee is a National Certified Guardian as certified by the Center for Guardianship Certification. He received his B.A. from Oberlin College in 1980 and J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 1983. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Bucks County Bar Associations.
Hon. Theodore Fritsch, Jr.
Judge Fritsch has been the Administrative Judge of the Orphans’ Court of Bucks County since 2007. Before joining the Bucks County Bench in 2004, he was a partner in the Langhorne law firm of Wood and Floge. From 1986 to 2001, he served as the Chief Deputy District Attorney in Bucks County. Judge Fritsch is a former member of the Board of Directors of TODAY, Inc., and a former advisory board member of Probation Volunteer Services (now VITA) and has been a guest lecturer at Temple University and the Bucks County Community College. He is also a past President of the Bucks County Inns of Court. He frequently serves as a panel member and presenter for PBI continuing legal education seminars. Judge Fritsch received his J.D. degree from the Dickinson School of Law.
