Overview

What is emotional intelligence? What does it have to do with ethical compliance and success in the practice of law?

This seminar will reveal the many ways that emotional intelligence directly impacts an attorney’s compliance with:

  • Client communication — Rule 1.4 [Communication]
  • Client service — Rule 1.1 [Competence]
  • Conflict management — Rule 1.7 [Conflict of Interest]

This fast-paced session will also examine the evidence of a relationship between emotional intelligence and success for both attorney and judge. These “soft skill” concepts will provide a great deal of food for introspective thought about personal improvement.

Recorded in February 2023.
