Khrista McCarden
Professor McCarden is the Hoffman Fuller Associate Professor of Tax Law at Tulane University. She earned her B.A., magna cum laude, from Harvard College, and she earned her J.D., cum laude, from Harvard Law School. She began her legal career with Latham & Watkins LLP in Los Angeles and has practiced tax law internationally. She clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit in New York City. She has been named as a top scholar in the field of social entrepreneurship and impact investing by an Oxford University/SAID Business School study sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation. She has been elected to the American Association of Law Schools (AALS) Nonprofit and Philanthropy Law Section’s Executive Committee. This year, Professor McCarden served as the Chair. Professor McCarden also has been selected as a Contributing Editor for the Nonprofit Law Professors Blog. Her scholarship focuses on tax law and policy, especially international taxation and the tax treatment of charitable giving. Her articles have been published in the U.K. and in the U.S., including in the Columbia Journal of Tax Law, the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Business Law, and the Ohio State Law Journal.
