Overview
Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping the intellectual property landscape, presenting both unprecedented opportunities and complex legal risks. This timely CLE explores how AI technologies—ranging from machine learning to computer vision—can be effectively protected through patents, copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, and contractual safeguards, while also addressing the practical and ethical challenges posed by their “black box” nature. Attendees will gain a grounded understanding of where AI adds value, where it creates exposure, and how to manage it responsibly in real-world legal and business contexts.
The program also examines the evolving regulatory environment, including the implications of a proposed 2026 federal AI policy framework aimed at centralizing oversight while limiting fragmented state regulation. As federal and state approaches diverge, participants will analyze how these developments are expected to influence intellectual property enforcement, litigation strategy, and risk allocation in disputes involving AI-driven innovation.
