Overview

Where the Crawdads Sing: The bestselling novel turned into a compelling wild-child tale.

Sometimes a movie will turn softer than you thought it would — more sunny and upbeat and romantic, with a happier ending. Then there’s the kind of movie that turns darker than you expect, with an ominous undertow and an ending that kicks you in the shins. “Where the Crawdads Sing” is the rare movie that conforms to both those dynamics at once.
—Variety Review.

Where the Crawdads Sing – a murder mystery novel that has sold over 15 million copies and was converted into a bestselling movie – tells the story of Catherine "Kya" Clark who is accused of murdering Chase Andrews after their relationship ended.

Join nationally recognized continuing legal education speaker Philip Bogdanoff as he uses clips from the movie to examine Kya’s trial, as well as the trial tactics used by both the prosecutor and defense.

Bogdonoff examines:

  • Whether a motion to suppress would have been successful in this case
  • Why opening and closing arguments are so important to your next litigation case
  • What you can learn from the direct and cross-examinations of the various witnesses used throughout Kya’s trial
  • How to deal with difficult clients—Bogdonoff shares his top ten strategies!
  • Why Kya didn’t report a sexual assault to the police – and whether or not this is common in today’s society.

What your colleagues are saying about Philip Bogdonoff’s classes:
