Overview

Trees inspire admiration and provide essential environmental benefits—but they can also create thorny legal problems. Tree Law 2025 examines the intersection of nature and law, where property rights, safety concerns, and environmental stewardship collide. This engaging program brings together legal professionals and arboricultural experts to provide a practical, in-depth look at tree management, ownership, and liability.

Participants will explore foundational tree science, the role and responsibilities of certified arborists, and the web of statutes, ordinances, and case law that govern tree ownership, maintenance, and removal. Real-world case studies will bring these issues to life—from boundary disputes to storm damage liability—ensuring that attendees leave with actionable strategies for navigating tree-related legal challenges.

Sessions include:

  • Tree 101 and The work of an arborist
  • Rules and Regulations that Apply to Trees
  • Case Studies

Recorded in November 2025.
