Overview

When and how to use irrevocable trusts in planning for a broad array of clients to accomplish asset protection, income tax planning, and future estate tax planning objectives. A comprehensive view of SLATs will be presented focusing on more than the reciprocal trust doctrine. How to best provide clients, especially more moderate wealth clients, access to trust assets using different drafting techniques and variations on the traditional SLAT. How to create a robust, modern, protective, flexible, and accessible, irrevocable trust for a wide range of clients of varying wealth levels. Topics will include: SLATs, DAPTs, hybrid DAPTs, SPATs, loan provisions, decanting provisions, tax reimbursement provisions, trust protector provisions and more.
