An overview of a guardian's responsibilities including the filing of the inventory and annual reports. Post-appointment petitions including a petition for allowance, petition for the private sale of real estate, petition for attorney fees, and a review petition will also be highlighted.

Richard D. Magee, Jr., Esq.
Mr. Magee is a sole practitioner in Jamison, Pennsylvania. His practice emphasizes guardianship matters and includes estates and estate planning. He has represented individuals and institutions seeking emergency and permanent guardianship appointments in Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware, Philadelphia, and Franklin counties. He has served as a guardian and court-appointed counsel for alleged incapacitated persons in Bucks and Montgomery counties. Mr. Magee is a National Certified Guardian as certified by the Center for Guardianship Certification. He received his B.A. from Oberlin College in 1980 and J.D. from Duke University School of Law in 1983. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Bucks County Bar Associations.
Marianne E. Kreisher, Esq., NCG, CELA
Ms. Kreisher is a Partner at Kreisher Marshall & Associates, LLC in Bloomsburg, where she practices in the areas of elder law, estate planning and administration, guardianship, special needs planning and estate litigation. She earned her B.A. from Penn State University in 1993 and graduated cum laude from Widener Law School in Harrisburg in 1996. Following law school, Ms. Kreisher worked in the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office for eight years as a deputy attorney general handling criminal appeals, grand jury investigations and criminal prosecutions. Ms. Kreisher is a certified elder law attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation as well as a National Certified Guardian by the Center for Guardianship Certification. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the National Guardianship Association, the Pennsylvania Guardianship Network, the Life Care Planning Law Firms Association, and she serves on the Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Ms. Kreisher has served as adjunct professor at Central Penn College and is a regular presenter for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute continuing education programs. She is the President of the Bloomsburg Area School Board, and Past President of the Bloomsburg Kiwanis Club and Columbia/Montour County Bar Association.
