Overview

This comprehensive program provides attorneys with practical, step-by-step guidance on successfully handling Social Security Disability cases from initial filing through the hearing stage. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the Social Security Administration’s five-step sequential evaluation process and learn how disability claims are analyzed, where common pitfalls arise, and how to develop medical and vocational evidence that meets SSA standards.

The program also covers the critical components of filing and preparing a claim for hearing, including record development, working with treating providers, evaluating residual functional capacity, managing deadlines, and drafting persuasive pre-hearing briefs. Emphasis is placed on building a strong record early to position cases for success.

Through an interactive mock hearing presented in two parts, attendees will observe a realistic Social Security Disability hearing in action. The mock hearing demonstrates effective claimant testimony, attorney questioning techniques, examination of vocational and medical experts, and persuasive closing advocacy. Designed for both newer practitioners and experienced attorneys seeking a practical refresher, this program delivers immediately applicable strategies to improve hearing preparation and outcomes.

Recorded in January 2026.
