Faculty

Jennifer A. Brandt, Esq.

Ms. Brandt is a Shareholder and Chair of the Family Law Group of Cozen O’Connor, a national law firm with over 900 attorneys. She is also the current Chair of the American Bar Association Family Law Section. Ms. Brandt focuses her practice on divorce, custody and support matters both in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She also handles family law mediations and arbitrations. She regularly appears as a legal commentator on national television outlets such as Court TV, CNN, ABC, MSNBC and the Fox News Channel and she is a regular contributor on the regional channel, Fox 29. Ms. Brandt has also appeared locally on television and radio including KYW-TV (CBS 3), WPVI (6 ABC), WCAU (NBC 10 Television) and KYW News Radio. She has contributed to numerous publications including the Philadelphia Inquirer, the National Law Journal, Forbes.com, the Huffington Post and Main Line Today magazine. She is the author of the blog Family Law Focus (www.familylawfocusblog.com) and is a monthly contributor to the Avvo-Martindale blog. Ms. Brandt has been named by Philadelphia Magazine as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer and one of American Lawyer Media’s Lawyers on the Fast Track as well as one of the Ten Leaders in Matrimonial and Divorce Law, age 45 and under. Ms. Brandt is a member of the Family Law Sections of the American, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Camden County Bar Associations. Ms. Brandt is also former co-chair of the Children’s Rights Committee of the PBA. She is a frequent speaker on the topic of family law and practice management for national and local organizations. Ms. Brandt received her B.A., with highest honors, from Rutgers College in 1991 and earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1994, where she was a Senior Editor of the Journal of International Business law and an Arthur Littleton Fellowship Instructor in legal research and writing.

Teresa C. Marino, Esq.

Ms. Marino is an of counsel attorney at McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC, practicing primarily in the Harrisburg and Lancaster offices. She has been practicing family law exclusively for over 15 years and focuses her practice on complex and high-net-worth matters. Ms. Marino currently serves on the PBA Family Law Section’s Council and Legislative Committee. She also serves on the Dauphin County Family Law Advisory Committee, and she is a past chairwoman of the Dauphin County Bar Association’s and Lancaster Bar Association’s Family Law Sections. In addition to her litigation practice, Ms. Marino practices collaborative law and serves as a mediator for all family law disputes. She is a past co-president of the Collaborative Professionals of Central Pennsylvania.

Carol A. Behers, Esq.

Ms. Behers is a principal in the Pittsburgh law firm of Raphael, Ramsden & Behers, P.C., where her practice is concentrated in family law. She is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, where she is a former member of the Board of Governors, a past chair of the Family Law Section, former chair of the Professionalism Committee, and former co-chair of the Ad Hoc Rules Committee. Ms. Behers is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, where she was the Chair of the Family Law Section. Ms. Behers was appointed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court as a member of the Domestic Relations Procedural Rules Committee and served as the Chair of the committee. She has also served on a statewide task force on Pennsylvania family court reform. Ms. Behers is a co-author of Premarital Agreements in Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Family Law Discovery Forms, and the Family Law Citator. She is a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. She has been included in the 2003–2023 editions of the Best Lawyers in America, and was named by Best Lawyers in America as Pittsburgh’s 2016 Lawyer of the Year in the practice area of family law. She has been included in all editions of Pennsylvania Super Lawyers. She has also been named as one of Pittsburgh’s top 50 lawyers and one of the top 50 women lawyers in Pennsylvania for the past five (5) years. Attorney Behers served a six-year term on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. She is a Past President of the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. She received her B.A. in 1980 and her J.D. in 1983 from Duquesne University, where she was Associate Editor of the Law Review.

Joseph P. McDonald, Esq.

Mr. McDonald is a sole practitioner in Jamison, Bucks County. He was previously a partner with the Montgomery County estate law firm of Smith, Aker, Grossman & Hollinger, LLP. He continues to devote his practice to Orphans’ Court litigation, as he has for the past 23 years, including will contests, will and trust interpretation cases, estate and trust accounting litigation, both contested and uncontested guardianships, and fiduciary disputes. He is the former Chair of the Montgomery Bar Association’s Probate and Tax Section, former Director of the Montgomery Bar Association and the Montgomery Bar Foundation, and former Chair of the Orphans’ Court Rules Committee. He received his J.D. with honors from Widener Law Center and a B.S. in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University. He is an author and lecturer for P.B.I. and the Montgomery Bar Association and Bucks County Bar Association on the topic of Orphans’ Court litigation. Last year he was a co-presenter of a seminar before the Berks County Bench Bar Conference on the subject of the Dead Man’s Rule, and also co-presented the subject to the Bucks County Bar Association’s Orphans’ Court Section. He resides in Bucks County with his wife and two children.

L. Christian DeDiana, Esq., CELA

Mr. DeDiana is a sole practitioner in Greensburg. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Cornell Law School. He is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation; a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel; a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; and a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Elder Law Attorneys. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and a member of its Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and Elder Law Section. He is a member of the Westmoreland Bar Association and chairman of its Orphans’ Court Elder Law Committee. He is a Certified Public Accountant. He has lectured for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Westmoreland Bar Association and the Southwestern Chapter of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants on various topics of estate administration, estate planning, and elder law.

R. Douglas DeNardo, Esq.

R. Douglas DeNardo is a seasoned attorney in Tucker Arensberg’s Business & Finance Department, where he serves as Chair of the Estates & Trusts practice group and as a member of the Fiduciary & Risk Management practice group. With over 37 years of experience, Doug passionately counsels individuals, professionals, and owners of closely-held businesses and professional corporations in developing comprehensive strategies to meet clients’ wealth transfer goals, both from a tax and non-tax perspective. Doug is often called upon by fellow attorneys and CPAs to assist in complex estate plans for high net-worth individuals and to assist in the preparation of federal estate and gift tax returns. Doug’s extensive repertoire includes advising on asset protection planning, including domestic asset protection trusts. He has been a key player in addressing the complexities arising from the recent shale gas exploration boom, assisting landowners in estate and income tax planning for lease bonuses and royalty payments, with a special emphasis on multigenerational planning. A Fellow of the highly esteemed American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) since 1998, Doug has also earned recognition as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer every year since 2004. He holds an AV Preeminent™ rating by Martindale Hubbell, a testament to his high ethical standards and professional excellence.

William F. Hoffmeyer, Esq.

Mr. Hoffmeyer is CEO and founder of the law firm of Hoffmeyer & Semmelman, LLC, concentrating his practice in the areas of real estate and zoning law, corporate law, estate planning, estate administration and elder law. He has also been an expert witness throughout Pennsylvania in the area of real estate law including, but not limited to, attorney and title insurance agent malpractice. Mr. Hoffineyer has presented for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Bankers’ Association, the Pennsylvania Land Title Institute, the National Business Institute, and for various bar associations throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on real estate, estates and probate, and the unauthorized practice of law. He wrote The Abstractor’s Bible, Contracts of Sale for Real Estate, How to Plot a Deed, and Settlement Procedures Manual. He served as Chairman of the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee from 1992-2000, and Co­ chair since 2000. He is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, and is listed as a Super Lawyer in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers, and has been selected by his peers to be in included in The Best Lawyers in America. Mr. Hoffmeyer was only the sixth recipient of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Pennsylvania Bar Medal recognizing his endeavors in the fight against the unauthorized practice of law, and was listed and recognized as a “Lawyer of Distinction” in the New York Times, Sunday edition, June 30, 2018. He is also an AV* Preeminent peer-review rated attorney by Martindale Hubbell. Mr. Hoffmeyer earned his A.B. degree from Franklin & Marshall College and his J.D. from The Dickinson School of Law. 

Megan K. Feehan, Esq.

Megan K. Feehan is a member with Cozen O’Connor and devotes her practice to educating and guiding her clients through the complexities of divorce, custody, support, and related family law issues in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Megan served as a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist in New Jersey and is a member of the Family Law Sections of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations. In 2018, she was nominated and accepted into the 2019 Forum of Executive Women Mentoring Program, a membership organization of women of significant influence in the Philadelphia region. Megan earned her law degree from Drexel University Earle Mack School of Law with honors. She was the notes editor of the Drexel Law Review and a member of the Women’s Law Society. She is the recipient of both the Pro Bono Service Honors Award and the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Eric D. Turner Award. Immediately following law school, Megan completed a one-year clerkship with The Honorable Gwendolyn Blue in the Family Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. She received her undergraduate degree in government, magna cum laude, from Franklin & Marshall College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Chelsea M. Mague, Esq.

Chelsea M. Mague is an attorney with Edward J. Krug & Associates. She practices in all aspects of transactional real estate law and estate planning and administration. Ms. Mague has experience with commercial and residential real estate transactions, title insurance and title clearance, financing, leasing, business formation and advisement, contract negotiation and preparation, estate planning and administration, and oil and gas law. She frequently counsels clients on structuring commercial credit facilities, securing collateral, and title curatives. Notably, Ms. Mague manages, coordinates, and represents lenders throughout the process of their commercial real estate loan transactions, in addition to providing underwriting advisement and counsel. Ms. Mague also provides advisement and underwriting support for West Hills Closing Services, LLC, the firm’s in-house, full-service closing company. Ms. Mague is a summa cum laude graduate of Slippery Rock University with both a BSBA in Business Administration and a BA in Spanish Business Administration. Ms. Mague also graduated summa cum laude from Duquesne University School of Law, where she was an Executive Articles Editor for the Duquesne Law Review. Ms. Mague is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania. She is a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, including the Real Property Section, Probate and Trust Law Section, and the Young Lawyers Division. She is also an active member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, where she currently serves as the Treasurer to the Section.

Thomas A. Boulden, Esq.

Mr. Boulden is a partner in the Fort Washington firm of Timoney Knox, LLP, where he concentrates on estate litigation he also does estate administration and estate planning. He received his B.A. with honors from West Chester University and his J.D. from the Widener University School of Law, where he served on the Moot Court Executive Honor Board and was named to the Order of Barristers. Mr. Boulden has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for the years 2007 through the present. He has been recognized as a Super Lawyer since 2014. Mr. Boulden served as an officer of the Montgomery County Bar Association Probate and Tax Section. He has served as a co-chairperson of the Montgomery County Orphans’ Court Rules Committee.  Mr. Boulden is a frequent lecturer on estate- and orphans’ court–related topics and has served on the faculties of numerous Pennsylvania Bar Institute programs. Mr. Boulden currently is a co-author of The Law of Wills in Pennsylvania.   He has previously co-authored or assisted with Hunters Orphans’ Court Commonplace Book (second edition), and The Pennsylvania Probate, Estates and Fiduciaries Code Annotated. 

Erik M. Hume, Esq.

Mr. Hume is a Shareholder in the Harrisburg office of Saxton & Stump, a full-service Lancaster-based law firm. He is Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Group and a member of the Business and Corporate Law Group. In his practice, Mr. Hume advises clients through all aspects of real estate transactions and development. He represents landowners and developers in the sale, acquisition, leasing, financing, and development of commercial and residential real estate. His practice also includes the creation, development, and administration of commercial and residential condominiums and planned communities. In addition to his real estate practice, Mr. Hume also has significant experience in oil, gas, and mineral law matters and in commercial loan origination. He is a licensed title agent. Mr. Hume has presented several times on issues related to real estate law including easements, condominiums and planned communities, stormwater management, oil and gas law, and pipelines. He received his B.A. in Government from Lehigh University and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Mr. Hume served as a law clerk to the Hon. Michael A. Georgelis of the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas.
