Virginia attorneys must complete:

• 12 CLE credits every year, including
• At least 2 Ethics or Professionalism credits
• At least 4 Live credits (live webcast or in-person)

Deadline to complete CLE credits: October 31 each year.

Yes! You can complete up to 8 credits through on-demand courses and at least 4 credits through live interaction, such as live webcasts or live seminars.

Accepted formats include:

• Live in-person seminars

• Live interactive webcasts

• Pre-recorded on-demand video or audio courses
• DVDs, CDs, MP3s (recorded CLE)

Attorneys must certify compliance through the Virginia Member Portal by December 15 at 4:45 PM EST using the course IDs provided upon completion.

Yes! Attorneys can carry forward up to 12 credits, including up to 2 Ethics credits, into the next compliance year.
