About

Whistleblower litigation is emerging as a rapidly growing area of the law, with new developments almost on a daily basis. Explore the legal, practical and ethical issues that arise when a whistleblower discovers illegal and otherwise improper practices in the workplace.

A diverse panel of experienced practitioners will discuss:

  • Strategies for litigation under the federal False Claims Act and other federal and state statutes
  • IRS and SEC programs that reward an informant based upon the amounts recovered
  • Whistleblower protections against firing, discipline, or other retaliation under:
    • The Pennsylvania Whistleblower Law and other states' laws
    • Federal workplace protections, including those under the False Claims Act and the 2013 Defense Authorization Act
  • The lawyer (in house counsel and otherwise) as whistleblower
  • The whistleblower's use of otherwise confidential documents
  • Negotiating settlement of whistleblower-retaliation claims
